Responsibilities:
The Field Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fiber optic networks across industrial estate areas, as well as the deployment and configuration of IoT devices including sensors, gateways, and edge devices in the field. The role involves performing network troubleshooting and escalating incidents to the NOC when necessary. The engineer will also conduct site surveys and cable route measurements for new projects, develop basic network designs covering topology, link budget, and fiber routing for both internal and tenant needs, and produce as-built drawings along with work completion reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Informatics Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic network field operations
- Proficient in the use of fiber measurement tools, including fusion splicers, OTDRs, and power meters
- Solid understanding of network design principles such as network topology, link budget calculation, and capacity planning
- Ability to read and produce technical drawings and as-built documentation
